ABTA 2012 to be held in Turkey

This year’s ABTA Travel Convention has come to a closebut the association has already revealed that next year’s will be held inTurkey.
The event will take place from Wednesday 10- Friday 12 October 2012 atthe Cornelia Diamond Golf Resort & Spa in Belek, Antalya.
Looking back onthe last three days, ABTA chairman John McEwan urged delegates to thinkcarefully about their business in the next year off the back of the variousdiscussions surrounding distribution, financial protection, business fundingand technology.
Both he and ABTA chief executive Mark Tanzer were optimisticfor the travel industry’s future year.
Tanzer said the market would be toughand continue to focus on value, although there are some structural issuesaround sustainability and destinations. McEwan added that the industry remains resilientand significant despite tightened consumer spend.
