ABTA launched a new training programme today for travel agents, tour operators and other front-line travel staff. ‘Accessible Travel Made Easy’ has been developed with the Equality and Human Rights Commission to educate the trade about travel for those for mobility issues. It provides a step-by-step guide covering the whole customer journey, using facts, quotes and case studies. “[The] training will really help the industry to understand a wide range of disabilities and how simple changes to behaviours and procedures can give all our customers access to a positive travelling experience from point of sale to their return,” explained ABTA Chief Executive Mark Tanzer. Members can sign up for the training at www.accessibletravelmadeeasy.com or contact Vicki Wolf for more information at vwolf@abta.co.uk.
