Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) has announced that it will establish the Middle East’s first dedicated executive airport, the Gulf News has reported. The facility catering for corporate jets will be located at the Al Bateen military airbase, 10km from Abu Dhabi city centre. ADAC’s Chairman and Managing Director Khalifa Al Mazrouei said of the decision; “With this development, we are able to meet that demand today and into the future. The facilities already in place will allow us to accommodate more corporate jet operations immediately.” However an investment of approximately AED200 million (US$54.5 million) will still be required to develop the air base.
