Shaikh Sultan Bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, has revealed an ambitious strategy to boost medical tourism in the UAE capital, the Gulf News has reported.
“Medical tourism requires provision of medical infrastructure and medical care to provide world class medical services and we are moving around that direction,” Shaikh Tahnoun told a press conference.
Abu Dhabi will host one of the world’s foremost international medical meetings, which is expected to attract over 12,000 delegates, the report added. The 33rd World Ophthalmology Congress will be held in 2020 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
