AccorHotels has opened a new beach resort in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, overlooking the Bay of Bengal.
The new Varun Beach Bheemili Resort is set on a two-hectare plot of beachfront land 25km up the coast from Visakhapatnam. It features just 28 rooms, all of which offer sea views.
Resort facilities include a restaurant, poolside bar and grill, a rooftop infinity pool, spa and facilities for meetings and outdoor team-building activities.
“India is a priority market for us and one in which we are seeing solid growth momentum. By the end of this year, we expect to have a strong presence with a network of 45 hotels in the country,” said Jean-Michel Cassé, AccorHotels’ senior vice president of operations for India.
“The state of Andhra Pradesh is integral to our development strategy and we are committed to opening more world-class hotels here.”
The Varun Beach Bheemili Resort becomes AccorHotels’ second property in the state, following the existing 225-room Novotel Visakhapatnam. But the company also has plans to open another Novotel alongside a convention centre in Vijayawada in future.
