Adu Dhabi to become ‘aerospace hub’

Abu Dhabi’s powerful state investment company,Mubadala, has announced plans for a facility that will manufacture high-techparts for EADS, the parent of Airbus, and a joint venture with Rolls-Royce toprovide engine maintenance services. The Financial Times has reported thatMubadala’s ultimate aim is for Abu Dhabi to become a “tier one” supplier of parts toAirbus and Boeing, and for the emirate to be an aerospace hub, providing arange of services from maintenance to component production.
