Aerolineas Argentinas has rejoined IATA as a full member after a ten year break. The move is part of the airline’s 2010-2014 development plan, under the direction of the government. Further plans include joining the SkyTeam in 2012 and to reinstate interline agreements. “This is a historic moment for the company since Aerolineas was neglected and pushed to one side of the international airline industry by its previous owners,” said Mariano Recalde, president and CEO of Aerolineas Argentinas. “This is a step forward for the airline complying with its aim to be profitable by 2012 and enhancing the social development of Argentina”.
