Agency appointed to rebrand Noosa

07 Oct 09 (TravMedia.com): Tourism Noosa has appointed George Patterson Y&R Brisbane as its new creative agency after launching a tender to lead a re-invigoration of the brand and its marketing activities.
Tourism Noosa CEO, Steve Cooper said they were delighted with the response to the tender with many Brisbane and interstate agencies submitting however the pitch by George Patterson Y&R was the overwhelmingly standout.
As one of the leading destination brands in Australia, Tourism Noosa will work with George Patterson Y&R to manage a comprehensive review of Brand Noosa that will deliver a fresh, new direction to guide both the corporate identity of the organisation and the creative direction for all marketing communications.
“Visitor markets have changes rapidly in recent years, technology is increasingly influencing habits and opinions, and Noosa itself has evolved with a host of new developments, upgrades and improvements taking place now and over the next 12-18 months,” Cooper said.
“To reflect these market changes the Noosa brand, while “refreshed creatively to a small degree” since its launch in 2004, “is overdue for a revisit.”
“From our first meeting the team chemistry has been exceptional and that chemistry is fuelling some very exciting work. We can’t wait to deliver the new campaign that Noosa deserves,” said Michael Harris, Managing Partner, GPY&R Brisbane.
The Noosa brand is very close to Russel Howcroft, National CEO of GPY&R, he was absolutely delighted with the appointment.
“My immediate and extended family have been Noosa lovers for many many years. I can remember my first swim there as a teenager. And I can remember taking my first child there 15 years ago. It is wonderful to now be a part of the team to assist Noosa with its marketing”, said Howcroft.
With regards to other media forums, Tourism Noosa would also be taking a “new look at what will influence prospective visitors” and while the brand would continue to invest in TV and print, would also be exploring new media channels and investing more in digital.
The tourism industry in Noosa is valued at over $780 million with forecasting expecting that figure to grow to over $1billion by the year 2020.
