Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad, India, will employ a new method to scare away birds. According to a Times of India report, the airport is to use laser guns, following a series of successful tests, which scare away birds at critical times during aircraft take off and landings. The move by the Airport Authority of India (AAI) is designed to reduce the frequent incidents of plane bird strikes at the airport.
