Air China has recorded a year-on-year rise in passenger traffic in February 2009, boosted by strong domestic growth. The Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation reported that the airline’s total passenger traffic, measured by Revenue Passenger Kilometres (RPK) during the month, grew 6.2%. International and regional demand dropped 9.4% and 11.8%, respectively, however this was more than offset by a 18.5% rise in domestic traffic, compared with February 2008.
The airline’s overall load factor rose by 0.1 percentage point to 76.8%.
