Air France-KLM is set to change its e-booking system following a partnership with Progress Software. The airlines, which merged in 2004, currently use separate systems and are looking to integrate the two with a new flight operations and e-booking system. Under Progress’ Actional tool, it hopes to ease future bookings. “Currently, global pressures in the travel industry mean e-booking systems need to be up and running 24×7,” explained KLM ICT Production Manager Connectivity Hans Rietman. “By increasing real-time visibility with a pro-active tool, like Actional, we are able to guarantee 100% availability for booking systems. We can monitor the environment, detect any unusual activity, then react and respond accordingly.”
