Air France-KLM strikes Alitalia deal

Air France-KLM will pay EUR322 million (US$431 million), to become the biggest shareholder in Alitalia, CNN reported. In a news conference in Rome, the Italian national carrier reportedly said that it would continue to operate under the Alitalia name, flying 22 fewer aircraft to 70 destinations. Air France-KLM will have three seats on the 19-member Alitalia board of directors, the report added.
