Air France has unveiled its new La Première first class suite at an event in Shanghai.
The new product, which will be rolled out across the airline’s fleet of Boeing 777-300 aircraft, stretches out to form a fully-flat, two-metre-long bed, which comes completed with a duvet designed by Sofitel.
Each suite will offer 3m² of space and will be separated from the rest of the cabin with thick curtains, held back with leather tiebacks, allowing full or partial privacy. Opposite the leather passenger seat, a second Ottoman-style seat allows passengers to dine with a friend.
In terms of technology, each seat comes equipped with a 24-inch (61cm) HD touchscreen TV.
“Our new La Première suite, from among all our new products and services, is the one that best represents our commitment to service excellence and a French travel experience. It illustrates our intention to recover and our global ambition,” said Frédéric Gagey, chairman & CEO of Air France.
Only four first class suites will be fitted to each Boeing 777-300 aircraft. The roll-out will start in September 2014 and will eventually cover 19 aircraft.
The airline will exhibit its new first class suites in Shanghai from now until 11 May, in New York from 26-28 and in Paris from 20-21 September 2014.
