Air NZ lays on more flights for Christchurch

Air New Zealand is increasing capacity to and from Christchurch in the wake of the devastating earthquake that rocked the city on Tuesday. Today, two Auckland-Christchurch return services will be upgraded to the 379-seat Boeing 747 aircraft, while a 313-seat B777-200 service will operate between from both Auckland and Wellington. An additional 171-seat Airbus A320 return service will also operate to Christchurch from both Auckland and Wellington, while an extra 133-seat B737 return service will also operate to and from Wellington. The additional capacity makes 2,522 more seats available in and out of Christchurch today.
