Air New Zealand has made a series of enhancements to its airnz.co.nz website. The changes are designed to make the site more user-friendly, and include enhancements to its booking engine and special offers sections. All of Air NZ’s global websites will see similar revamps over the coming six weeks.
“Our websites are a critical sales channel so a huge amount of thought has gone into making the planning and booking experience as seamless as possible. These are the most significant changes to the usability of our site in six years,” said the airline’s Manager of Global Online Sales, Kim Walbridge.
Walbridge added that with almost half of visitors to the website going straight to the booking search tool, the airline has made this function easier to use.
“We’ve done some cool stuff, such as providing a two-month calendar helper that makes it a lot easier to select the correct travel dates and much harder to enter wrong information,” he said.
In addition, the airline’s best deals are now clustered into a ‘Finding our Lowest Fares’ page, including a new low fare alert service, allowing customers to specify the price they’re willing to pay, and sending email alerts whenever the fare price drops below their nominated threshold.
The website refresh also puts more emphasis on Air NZ’s non-flight related products such as accommodation, travel insurance, rental cars, taxi transfers and campervans, with special deals for these products all listed on one page. There’s also a ‘How Can We Help You’ search function on each page enabling customers to locate information, an enhanced FAQ section, and a travel alert bar that advises passengers of travel-related issues such as expected weather disruptions.
