A few embassies in Bahrain are reportedly taking initiatives to request major airlines to make concessions to accommodate the disadvantaged passengers.
Leading the appeal is Bangladesh Embassy Interim Charge d’Affaires Masudur Rahman, told the Gulf Daily News that the average ticket price is approximately US$200, between Bahrain to Dhaka and but some people can not afford to pay this sum.
Some airlines are already offering special fares, however the number of seats available on these prices are limited.
Senior diplomats are reported to have said that the budgets of embassies are limited and may turn to the community to lend assistance to those that are desperate.
The amnesty’s deadline is on 2 September and it aims to assist those people who have overstayed their visas in Bahrain or whose sponsors failed to renew their documents.
