Airlines push for local second Sydney airport

Airlines have hit out against the Australian government that its plans to build a second Sydney airport away from the city. According to a report in The Australian, the Board of Airline Representatives of Australia (BARA) is calling for plans to locate the facility options such as Canberra, Goulburn and Orange to be scrapped, in favour of a new local hub at Richmond RAAF base.
BARA submitted its request to the government, citing the massive investment in ground transport that would be required by a remote location.
