AITO criticises BA for lack of ash cloud reimbursements

AITO (The Association of Independent Tour Operators) has slammed British Airways for not reimbursing operators from ash cloud claims. AITO Director of Industry Affairs Noel Josephides said operators were now getting “mud kicked in their faces” after they continued to be loyal to the airline. “I believe that at least some AITO members will now reconsider whether or not they should work with BA, although – with its potential tie-ups with Iberia and American – it will control a large number of routes,” he explained. House of Lords is meeting today to discuss the issue of ash cloud compensation after airlines lobbied for a change in refunds.
