Sharjah is increasingly being opted for by families and locals as a destination of choice. This sentiment was expressed by Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, chairperson of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), during a recent visit to Al Montazah Park (previously known as Al Jazeera park).
“Sharjah has become home to cultural, historical, art and heritage tourist facilities, making it a choice for family members, visitors and tourists,” she remarked.
Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi noted that Sharjah is currently embarked on a host of tourism projects aiming at developing new tourist destinations to accelerate development process in the Emirate on all levels. She inspected the progress of work on Al Montazah Park, currently being developed by Shurooq, in preparation for the soft opening at the start of 2014.
Upon completion, Al Montazah Park will mainly target families. It will fall in line with other projects such as the Al Majaz Waterfront and Al Qasba, among other mega tourism projects currently being developed, most notably the Heart of Sharjah project.
