Al Qasba Street Fiesta (QABAM) recently kicked off in Sharjah. The event played host to artworks, various artistic and entertainment activities as well as live music performances.
The Fiesta transformed Al Qasba’s walkways into an artistic platform that featured international renowned artists exhibiting their creative artwork. Some of the artists were German artist, Blanko who showcased three amazing body-painting performances a day, Mauranga, a Spanish artist, combined circus, theatre, music and comedy in a one-man-show performance and Gennaro, an Italian artist, showcased optical illusions and 3D Chalk Art drawing performances.
The walkways were filled with kiosks that sold art-related collectibles, goods, souvenirs and food. The ‘Doodle Walk’, ‘Box of Art Installation’, ‘Gnome Painting’’, ’Corpse Wall’ and ‘Fillers’ were among the fun-filled activities.
Sultan Mohammed Shattaf, Al Qasba manager, said: “The festival plays a major role in promoting Sharjah’s growing art and pop culture segment to all UAE residents and tourists. This segment is also growing rapidly in the UAE, gathering a huge fan-base and individual. Our objective from QABAM is to strengthen Sharjah’s presence as a central artistic and cultural platform for art enthusiasts, pop culture fans.”
