Alaska Airlines will cut up to 1,000 jobs and reduce flights by 15%, the BBC has reported. The US carrier made a US$50 million loss in the first half of 2008 and has said it needed to take “decisive action”. The job cuts, which represent 10% of its total workforce, will start on 9 November.
