Amadeus reports 6.9% booking increase

Total bookings through Amadeus increased 6.9 percent to 441.6m in last year compared to 2009, the GDS provider has revealed. The company’s revenue increased 10.6 percent to EU2.6bn and its adjusted profit rose 24.3 percent to EU4.2bn. “Our transaction-based model has again proven adaptable and profitable, allowing us to benefit from the significant improvement in the global travel industry during 2010,” said Luis Maroto, president and CEO of Amadeus. “During 2011, we aim to reinforce our leading position worldwide, both in our Distribution and IT Solutions businesses. We look forward to 2011 with confidence.” Amadeus’ also reported a 29 percent increase in low cost airline sales in Q4.
