Online retailer amazon.co.uk has suggested that Brits have already fallen out of love with staycations as sales of travel guides for international destinations come out top. Guides sales suggest that holidays in Orlando, Florida and Morocco are looking more popular than British destinations, according to a report by the Daily Telegraph. Only one Britain guide features on the website’s top 10, compared to four at the same time last year, which focused on walking and camping holidays. Other long-haul countries that make an appearance in the list include China, Australia, India and New Zealand. “This move may be a result of the poor weather we experienced again last summer in the UK, or it might even be viewed as more economical to travel outside Europe given current exchange rates,” said Amazon.co.uk Head of Books Buying Amy Worth. “The fact that only two European destinations feature in the top ten would seem to support this.” ABTA told the newspaper travellers were looking to travel to exotic destinations such as India, Thailand and China.
