Kuwait has taken the unprecedented move of banning nationals from Syria, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan from entering the country. The ban, which media reports attribute to “difficult security conditions in the five countries”, includes the suspension of all tourism, trade and visit visas, as well as spousal sponsorship visas. An official declined to comment about a timeframe for if or when the ban may be lifted.
