Nepal to have ninth casino

The Economic Times reported that Tuttle is planning to establish a casino at Hotel Malla, which recently received recognition as a five-star hotel. Five-star hotels in the country are licensed to open a casino, the report said. The US expatriate, who manages Casino Nepal – the first gaming house since 1968 - now eyes Goa where he is planning to manage a floating casino in collaboration with a local company.
“Goa with its booming tourism industry has plenty of opportunities for the casino business,” Tuttle was quoted saying.
Goa Coastal Resorts was bringing a big ship from the US to launch a new casino at the end of this year, sources were quoted saying.
The newspaper said that the ship was due to arrive in less than a week. Tuttle who has four decades of experience running the casino business in Nepal, Sri Lanka and Russia, has been asked to look after the management of thethree-storey casino. There will be around 50 tables in the 30,000 square feet floating casino, the report said.
