Ministerof Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr Jamaludin Jarjis said at the moment hisministry was still discussing withthe local television stations, TV3, Astro and RTM on the live telecast, Bernamareported.
“Ifpossible, we want to watch the live telecast of the launching from the BaikonurCosmodrome in Kazakhstan,when the astronautsreach the space station and our astronaut in there for eight days,” he said.
Jamaludinsaid one of the two candidates, Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor and Kapt Dr FaizKhaleed, was expected to takeoff to the International Space Station, Russian segment, on 10 October. Accordingto Bernama, he said thegovernment would consider sending another Malaysian astronaut after thismission if the people wanted it. However, this would also depend on the availabilityof funds.
