All Nippon Airways (ANA) has requested US anti-trust immunity to expand an alliance with United Airlines and Continental Airlines on their trans-Pacific routes. According to a Bloomberg report, the application was filed with the US Transportation Department yesterday. Anti-trust immunity would allow the carriers to combine to set prices, routes and marketing plans on international flights. The three airlines are all members of the Star Alliance.
