All Nippon Airways will begin asking cabin crew to take voluntary unpaid leave for up to 10 months from April, the Japan Times report company officials as saying. The scheme will apply to approximately 4,000 attendants on both domestic and international flights, allowing them to choose either one, five or 10 months leave.
Japan’s second largest airline is expected to fall into the red for the first time in six years when it announces its results for fiscal year 2008. Losses of JPY9 billion (US$92.5 million) are expected.
