ANA’s international traffic booms

All Nippon Airways (ANA) saw a continued rise in international passenger traffic in June 2011, as it recovers from the 11 March disasters. The Japanese airline carried 464,200 passengers on international routes during the month, up from 437,000 in May and 372,600 in April. The June 2011 total was also 26.8% more than the same month in 2010. Traffic on routes to Asia & Oceania led the way, jumping 34.4% year-on-year to 333,700. North American routes saw a 14.1% rise, while those to Europe increased 4.0%. ANA’s international load factor for the month averaged 73.3%, compared to 68.6% in May and 55.1% in April.
Domestic traffic however, remained subdued. ANA carried 2.74 million domestic passengers in June 2011 – down 11.1% year-on-year. Domestic load factors averaged just 56.4% – only marginally higher than the 56.1% recorded in May.
