Private equity firm Apollo Management LP has agreed to buy Regent Seven Seas Cruises in a transaction valued at about US$1 billion.
A Bloomberg report said Regent Seven Seas was bought from held hotel and travel- services company, Carlson.
It’s Apollo’s third investment in a cruise-ship operator this year. Earlier this year, it bought a 50 percent stake in NCL Corp. for US$1 billion from Star Cruises. In February, Apollo invested US$850 million in Oceania Cruises Inc., a Miami-based luxury-cruise line.
