Armed police raided a game of cricket in Manchester last week, after somehow mistaking the sounds of cricket shots for gunshots. According to the Manchester Evening News, firearms officers supported by a police helicopter swooped on a factory in the city’s Cheadle area after receiving reports that a gun had been fired five times. But on arrival, they found a group of workers armed with nothing more than a cricket bat and ball.
“We were just messing around and could hear shouting saying ‘Come out! Come out!’
