The Armenian government on Thursday decided to remove India from a 2008 list which requires invitations for Indian nationals to obtain entry visas to Armenia.
This will make it much easier for Indian nationals to travel to Armenia as they will now be able to get their visas upon arrival.
The Armenian foreign ministry said that strict visa requirements for Indian nationals are no longer in line with the spirit of contemporary bilateral relations which is becoming an important trading partner.
In 2008, Armenia made a list to include 18 states which are required to have invitations from Armenia to apply for entry visas.
Following the recent decision that list no longer includes India or China.
