The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) has decided to move the venue of its December Summit from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. According to a report in the Bangkok Post, Thai officials have moved the event in order to minimise any potential disruption from the anti-government protests in the capital.
The Summit is scheduled for 15-18 December, with UN Secretary General, Ban Ki Moon, invited to join a special session discussing the global financial crisis.
