Tourism officials from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) met in Cambodia recently to finalise a new five-year tourism plan. The ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan for 2011-2015, which aims to promote the region as a tourism destination, will be submitted to the ASEAN tourism ministers during a summit today. The plan will especially focus on developing human resources. The ministerial meeting is part of the ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF), which takes place in Phnom Penh this week.
