According to Airbus, the higher share is closer to the sector’s 29% slice of North America and Europe’s 26% slice.
The Centre of Asia Pacific Aviation forecasts A-P budget carriers will command a 25% share by 2012, from what it says is 12% today.
“‘A swag of new orders by Asia Pacific LCCs will propel the sector to 25% of total seats in the region within five years, double their current penetration,” the CAPA report said.
