Asiana Airlines pens A380 engine deal

Asiana Airlines has signed a deal with engine maker Rolls-Royce, for Trent 900 engines to power its forthcoming fleet of six Airbus A380. The order includes a Rolls-Royce’s ‘TotalCare’ long-term service agreement. The value of the deal was not revealed.
Seoul-based Asiana will take delivery of its first A380s aircraft in 2014. The superjumbos will be the first planes in its fleet to be powered by Rolls-Royce engines, although it has also ordered Trent XWB engines for an order of up to 40 Airbus A350 XWB aircraft.
