CHARLOTTE, N.C., Nov. 18, 2009 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Goodrich Corporation (NYSE:GR) has been selected by Korea’s Asiana Airlines to provide landing gear maintenance services for its fleet of Boeing 777-200ER aircraft. The agreement encompasses all scheduled repair and overhaul services, including use of Goodrich-managed rotable landing gear assets.
In September 2009, Goodrich announced that its Landing Gear business had signed an agreement with a major airline in which Goodrich would use the airline’s rotable landing gear as exchange units for other airlines that purchase landing gear overhaul services. Those rotable assets will be used by Goodrich to fulfill its overhaul service commitments to Asiana.
Mike Brand, president, Goodrich Landing Gear, said, “This award builds upon a more than 10-year long relationship between Goodrich and Asiana Airlines. By providing quicker availability of landing gear overhauls, we can minimize downtime and dramatically improve their return on investment. We look forward to providing exceptional service in support of Asiana’s continued growth and success.”
Asiana Airlines, selected by Air Transport World magazine as “2009 Airline of the Year,” operates 67 aircraft including nine Boeing 777-200ER models.
Goodrich is the original equipment manufacturer and one of the world’s largest overhaul service providers for landing gear on virtually every Boeing airliner in service today including the 737, 747, 757, 767 and 777 families of aircraft.
