Asiana Airlines, South Korea’s second-largest carrier, has posted its second consecutive quarterly loss, Bloomberg has reported. The Q3 deficit of KRW47.9 billion (US$33.6 million) is reported to be due to the weak won inflating the costs of jet fuel and foreign-currency debt.
Asiana’s sales revenues actually rose 21% to KRW1.2 trillion, however a 64% year-on-year rise in fuel costs more than cancelled this out.
