Asia’s biggest salsa cruise on Legend of the Seas

SINGAPORE, November 5, 2009 - Royal Caribbean International’s cruise ship Legend of the Seas is getting into the Latin mood as she is counting down to hosting Asia’s first and biggest salsa cruise from November 23 to 27, 2009. Participants from all over the world will go on the special 4-night cruise from Singapore to Port Klang (Kuala Lumpur) and Phuket which will line up dance workshops by world-renowned instructors, gala performances by world-class salsa dancers, all-night and pool-side dance parties and even a live band, all set to heat up the dancing scene on the high seas.
Salsa Cruise Asia 2009: Dance with the World
Created by SCAsia Sdn Bhd as the biggest, boldest and grandest dance theme cruise vacation in Asia, Salsa Cruise Asia 2009: Dance with the World aims to convert non-dancers to be part of the great dance experience, revive ex-dancers’ undying passion for dancing and motivate active dancers to continue their interest in dancing. It is set to create a significant impact in Asia as the first unique holiday experience here branded as ‘the Dance Vacation’. The cruise is attracting dance enthusiasts and holiday-makers alike from all over the world and will be attended by some 300 participants. It will be preceded by the 1st Night Opening Ceremony Concert and party at the Grand Ballroom of Ritz Carlton Singapore.
The event will showcase dances originating from Latin America and the Caribbean islands such as salsa, mambo, merengue, bachata, zouk lambada and afro caribbean, as well as international Latin dances such as rumba, samba, paso doble, cha-cha-cha and jive. In addition, there will be West Coast Swing which is widely popular in the US.
Among the 30 over international dance instructors and performers are some famous names such as Johnny Vasquez from Mexico, who is considered one of the world’s best instructor and performer and winner of three consecutive World Salsa Championship titles; Jaime Jesus who has been the lead instructor for Latin Dance Australia since 2003 and one of the most sought-after dancers worldwide, and; Tony Lara and Dani de Francesco of Italy who are the world’s most sought-after Bachata couple today and have been invited to teach and perform at some of the world’s biggest and prestigious salsa congresses.
The event package ranges between USD900 to USD3,000 inclusive of the cruise with all day dining, the dance workshops, gala performances, live band and parties, and is still available for booking.
