Although Kerzner International’s Atlantis resort on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah just days away from opening, the developer is already planning a US$1 billion extension of the luxury resort, the Gulf News has reported.
The US$1.5 billion Atlantis the Palm only occupies around half of the Palm land owned by Kerzner, and the group reportedly has plans to develop the remaining land into a mixed-use development, named Cove Atlantis.
“We’re working on a concept very similar to what we have in the Cove, Bahamas,” Alan Leibman, Managing Director of Kerzner International, told Gulf News. “It’ll be mixed-use with hotel and condos and we’re right in the middle of design right now,” he added.
