The first results of the Department of Transport ATOL Reform consultation will be revealed at a conference in late April.Civil Aviation Authority’s Deputy Director, Consumer Protection Group, David Moesli will present early findings of the trade and consumer responses at the Travel Technology Initiative’s Agents Advancing conference on 27 April.”ATOL Reform could affect the whole travel industry. For consumers, it could finally bring clarity to whether their holidays are protected or not. For the industry, it could create a level playing field where online travel companies can no longer take advantage of consumers so-called ‘self-packaging’ of their holidays,” said TTI’s Chairman, Tony Allen.Travel industry executives including ABTA Chairman John McEwan and Managing Director of The Co-operative Travel Mike Greenacre will debate the ATOL Reform at the conference.
