Australia’s Strategic Aviation Group is set to launch the country’s first wide-body charter airline using its 350-seat Airbus A330-300 aircraft, The Australian has reported. The group’s Executive Director, Michael James, said that Strategic would be able to offer airlines greater flexibility by enabling them to charter additional capacity.
“Our new airline will be a full charter airline that will also offer leasing options to airline operators around the world,” James said. “This will include the ability to fully operate leased aircraft on their behalf with Australian crews.”
The ability to charter Airbus A330s with Australian crews is viewed in the industry as a major advantage for Strategic Airlines.
