Austrian Airlines will continue its Asian expansion late this year with the launch of direct flights to Hong Kong.
Commencing on 5 September 2016, the Vienna-based airline will offer five weekly flights direct to and from Hong Kong using its Boeing 777 aircraft.
Flights will leave the Austrian capital every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 1300 and arrive in Hong Kong at 0625 the next morning. The return services will then take off at 0940 and arrive back in Vienna at 1610.
Hong Kong will become Austrian’s third destination in Greater China, following Beijing and Shanghai. The new Vienna-Shanghai route is due to commence in April 2016. Elsewhere in Asia Pacific, the airline flies to Bangkok, Tokyo, Astana, Male and Colombo.
Austrian will become the third Lufthansa Group airline flying to Hong Kong, following Lufthansa and SWISS.
