British Airways and Unite are set to meet through Acas this week in an attempt to settle the cabin crew dispute. It will be the first negotiations since Unite members voted against BA’s proposal to end the row. However, an agreement seems unlikely as Willie Walsh said the airline would not offer a new deal. “We are not tabling any new offer but the existing offer is still on the table,” he said. “We will be using that offer as the basis for the resolution of the dispute.” He added that the union’s support was ‘waning’ as only 45% of crew showed support for future strikes.
