BA losses greater than expected

British Airways has saidit will fall short of its financial targets for the fiscal year 2008/09,according to a BBC report. The carrier confirmedit expects to make an operating loss of GBP150 million (US$221 million) for2008/9 – GBP25 million more than it first thought. The result has been blamedon falling passenger traffic.A BA statement said that market conditionsremained “challenging, with both volume and yield under pressure”.
