British Airways has announced it traffic results for March 2010, with passenger traffic, measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres (RPK), falling by 11.4% year-on-year. Passenger capacity, measured in Available Seat Kilometres (ASK), was down 13.7%, enabling the airline to increase its load factor by 2 points to 74.7%. Both traffic and capacity were affected by the cabin crew strikes, which have blighted the airline recently.
The total impact of the strike action in March is estimated to be GBP40-45 million (US$61-69 million).
