Business Traveller reports that British Airways will launch its first flights to Saudi Arabia in four years this coming weekend with the commencement of services to Jeddah and Riyadh.
The carrier last served the kingdom in 2005, and these new flights were due to start in March, but were delayed because it had taken longer than anticipated to prepare for the new routes.
The services begin on 31 May 2009, with five-times a week flights to both Riyadh (using a four-class Boeing 777), and Jeddah (using a three-class Boeing 767).
Bmi currently offers direct flights to Riyadh using two-class Airbus A330 aircraft, with one-stop services to Jeddah and Dammam (via Riyadh).
