Baccarat Residences Shanghai, formerly known as Residence 8, was launched on Saturday, and the French management company plans to open more properties in China, according to a Shanghai Daily report.
The 308-unit residential project in Xintiandi is managed by Baccarat Hotels and Resorts, a five-star luxury hotel brand owned by Starwood Capital Group.
“China manages to overcome the current recession better than many other countries,” Baccarat’s CEO, Herve Martin, was quoted saying. “I think now it’s time for us to expand in the country.”
The company also plans to open more properties in Shanghai, Beijing and Hong Kong, the report added.
