Bali’s Mount Agung has been closed to climbers until 4 April 2011, local news portal BaliDiscovery.com has reported. The measure was taken to safeguard “the purity and sanctity” of Bali’s highest volcano in the days leading up to the Ida Batara Turun Kabeh religious ceremony, which takes place on the mountain on 19 March.
