Bangalore airport’s poor immigration screening

According to Hindu.com there is an annual average of 40 migrants that are deported back to Bangalore from various countries for travelling on a fake passport or visa.
As a latest case, the UAE authorities on Friday deported a Sri Lankan national from Dubai after he was found travelling on a stolen visa said the report. Sources told the news agency, that every month at least three persons are deported and majority of them are Sri Lankans fleeing their country due being at risk of ethnic conflict.
Most of them were sent back from Singapore, Malaysia, Dubai, Germany and the U.S. A spokesman from the police commission blamed such lapses on the huge passenger volume at Bangalore airport. “We will take steps to ensure that such things do not happen in future,” Hindu. com quoted him as saying. The alarming fi gures have prompted the Union Home Ministry to consider handing over the immigration desk at Bangalore airport to the Intelligence Bureau (IB) the report said.
